I’m bored…

Let’s be real, Castro Valley is a quintessential Bay Area suburban city, but it’s got a hype new Chinese restaurant, so now you’re stuck here.
That being said, there are a lot of great restaurants. Along the main strip, you’ll find some great food at places like Denica’s Kitchen and Hokkaido Sashimi.
If you’re looking for an activity, you can take a walk at Lake Chabot Regional Park or Don Castro Regional Park.

We love living in Oakland and have tons of (food) recommendations for both visitors and locals. A personal favorite is Belotti Bottega, which serves some of our favorite pasta in a deli fomat. Cholita Linda has a delicious fish taco and is also where we went for our first date (says Xavier).
The areas around Belotti (Piedmont) and Cholita Linda (Temescal) also have fun shops and bars that are great to check out.
To work up that appetite, take a hike through Reinhardt Redwood Regional Park and check out some redwoods. Take Juni with you; she knows the ropes as we come here once a week!

Looking to explore further? An activity we would recommend is taking the ferry from Jack London Square in Oakland to the Ferry Building in San Francisco. Its a great way to see the bay and visit San Francisco without having to drive over there. Plus, who doesn’t like boats?
