How do I get where I need to go?

Flying in (airports)

San Francisco (SFO) | ~ 30 min to 1 hour drive to Castro Valley

This airport offers the best flight options for those coming from hard to reach areas. We would recommend flying into SFO if you are traveling internationally or if you are seeking to avoid layovers. This airport might be slightly more convenient for those flying out on Sunday and planning to attend the Farewell Party.

Oakland (OAK) | ~ 15 min to 20 min drive to Castro Valley

This is our home base airport and the most convenient to get to Castro Valley. For those planning to attend our Farewell Party & fly out on Sunday, please note there may be some traffic to get back to Oakland airport.

San Jose (SJC) | 40 min to 1 hour drive to Castro Valley

We typically don’t recommend this airport as it’s quite small, so flight options will be limited. However, this could be a good option for those planning to also spend time in the South Bay.

Getting around

Carpooling

Please let us know if you will need airport pick ups and/or carpooling options over the weekend. We will do our best to accommodate and connect travelers & folks willing to provide rides.

Driving

We would recommend renting a car if you are seeking to get around and do more sight seeing. If you are planning to stay only in Castro Valley, Golfland, H&L Peninsula and the hotel are all within a 10 minute drive. Lyft or Uber can also be a great option for your transportation needs. Unfortunately our Farewell Party will be quite a bit farther away, so keep that in mind for your travel plans.

Note: Do not leave anything valuable in your car even for just a minute. Keep your valuables and electronics on you, and try to keep your items out of sight (ie place luggage in trunk of car).

Public transit

We love public transit, but it may be a bit of a trek getting around this way for the weekend. Let us know if you are planning to rent a car and/or would like to buddy up on this for local travel over the weekend.
